On November 2nd, 2019, there was an atmosphere of beauty and celebration, as Africa's most exciting and competitive entrepreneurship award – The Entrepreneur Africa Awards (TEA Awards) – went down at Terra Kulture Arena, V.I, Lagos, Nigeria.
At 5pm local time, hundreds of african male and female entrepreneurs and business associates, as well as celebrities, stormed the venue, clad in bespoke attires befitting of the prestige of the ocassion and exuding gaeity, panache, glamour and elegance. The Red Carpet was the first to feel the heat as cameras flickered and lights flashed in comemoration of the excitement leading up to the D-day. Over a dozen top leading media houses were on ground to capture all the highlights of Africa’s top entrepreneurship award. These included Silverbird TV, NTA, Sun Newspaper, Kent TV, RedCarpetOnTV, BlackBulbTV, The Nation Newspapers, Kaftan TV, several blogs, etc. 25 different award categories were keenly contested by about 180 official shortlisted nominees, out of a total of 1, 200 different businesses and entrepreneurs who first made the general nomination entries.
In his welcome remarks, the CEO/Founder of The Entrepreneur Africa (organisers of the premium event) said the Awards ceremony and Business Dinner was all about celebrating the growth of entrepreneurship in Africa and promoting businesses and brands that need it the most. Mr. Agu said The Entrepreneur Africa is passionately committed towards the continued creation of an entrepreneurship-conscious Africa, adding that this remains one major catalyst to Africa's growth and development. High points of the event were the moments the winners of various award categories were announced. The excitement that was thrown into the atmosphere at this event was better experienced than told. Winners for the night cut across more than 5 African counties including Ghana and Tanzania, but were clearly dominated by Nigerian entrepreneurs. Another major highlight of the event was when the winner of Young Entrpreneur of The Year was announced and bestowed with over N6.5million worth of prizes, sponsored collectively by The Entrepreneur Africa, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, SalesRuby, and Leadspace.
