Few hours ago, a Fulani Organization popularly known as Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation in collaboration with Coalition of Civil Societies in Nigeria have called for the dissolution of all regional security agencies in the country. The statement was issued during a world press Conference held in Abuja, where issues of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping and incessant killings were critically discussed.
Speaking during the opening speech, which was presented by Alh. Ardo Yusuf, the National President of Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation, he noted that the major objective of the World Press Conference and interactive session with Journalists was keenly targeted at providing sustainable solutions to the challenging situations faced in the nation's security structure. He further stressed on the quest for the reform and transformation of Fulani Communities so as to enable the promotion of peace and unity across Nigeria.
The Conference which was themed "State of Insecurity and Extra judicious Killings in Nigeria" witnessed the massive participation of NGOs, CSOs, Human Rights Activists, Media Organizations and other notable persons. Other speakers at the conference called for the immediate halt in the killings of Fulanis and other ethnic nationalities nationwide. They had also called on governments to redouble efforts in eliminating criminal elements that has distracted governance and continuously threatened the peace and unity of our country.
In a concluding speech by an international media Consultant from the United States of America, he stated that Nigerians remains the problem of Nigeria. He says, "hunger is a political strategy, while food is a polical weapon". He therefore blamed the problems of the country on Nigerians, stressing that politics, religion and tribe must be reviewed so as to get things right.
Over the years, Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation has continue to champion proactive programs and initiatives to support the welfarism of Fulanis and other ethnic groups across Nigeria. It has remained a multidisciplined and multifaceted Organization, shouldered with the sole responsibility of sensitising, enlightening and orienting Fulani pastoralists groups. The Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation has remained commited in the encouragement of educational, economical, cultural, agricultural and infrastructures development across Nigeria and especially Fulani communities in the country.
