Violent protest and civil disturbance have been reported along the ever busy Gwagwalada-Giri road in Abuja.
"Report of ongoing civil disturbances along gwagwalada -giri road by political thugs. Tension is currently high as traffic is currently being impeded.
" Advisory: Approach area with Caution," Eons Intelligence tweeted on Friday morning.
The protest, which is said to be embarked upon by political thugs may not be unconnected with the one year tenure elongation for Area Councils chairmen and councillors.
ABUJAPRESS reports that newly elected council chairmen and councillors which supposed to have been sworn in today, were ordered to wait for another year following a court's order.
The Peoples Democratic Party had on Thursday described the court's judgment as a call for anarchy and major threat to peace in the nation's capital territory.
