The Delta State Working Committee of Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) has called on members of the Union to embark on a fast and prayer ( today Thursday) 16th March, 2023.
This spiritual exercise is with respect to the forthcoming Governorship/House Of Assembly Election on Saturday.
In a statement signed by the union Secretary, Mr Patrick Ochei, a copy made available to our correspondent, stated that It has become imperative for members to pray against conscious and unconscious attacks, as purveyors of information who are often seen as objects of attack.
Accordingly the statement reads “:Let it be known to us that none of us is wished to be attacked; but because we are humans, there is need to rely on the efficacy of prayers, so that God can avert for us any intended or unintended attack.
For the umpteenth time, we call on any journalist in the State who must monitor the election to pray and fast, otherwise, such is advised to stay off in his or her own interest.
It is our prayer that all of us will cover this election safely and successfully to His own Glory alone”
