Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has appointed Major General JO Ochai as the Commandant of the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy – NDA. Additionally, Major General A.B Ibrahim has been appointed as the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP).
These appointments have become necessary due to the retirement of some officers following the appointment of new service chiefs by President Bola Tinubu on June 19. With the new leadership in place, the COAS is prepared to hit the ground running.
Prior to his current appointment, Major General JO Ochai served at the Army Headquarters Department of Operations before being assigned to the Nigerian Army Armour School as the Commandant. His wealth of experience and expertise make him well-suited for his new role at the helm of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
