The Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, has presented the mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme, MANCAP Certificates to seven companies in Suleja, Niger State.

The companies ranges from Water, Food, Beverages, Fruit Juice Clothing among others

Presenting the Certificates to the Companies, the Director General of SON, Farouk Salim, said the scheme is targeted at all locally manufactured products with the aim of ensuring that the products conform and comply with minimum requirements of relevant Nigerian Industrial Standard

Salim, who was represented by the Director, North Central Region of SON, Mr Saleh Babaji said this would also promote fair competition at domestic and international markets, safeguard safety and health of consumes as well as promote economic and industrial development of the Nigeria.

He therefore reiterated the commitment of SON in promoting consumer's confidence and global competitiveness of Nigerian products and services through standardization and quality assurance

Earlier, the Coordinator, Niger State Office II, Mr Adamu Ahmed Saleh said the essence of the MANCAP Certificates presentation was to enhance quality products and healthy competition among producers and manufacturers in Niger State and its environs

Mr Saleh stated that the companies had over the years showed resilience and hardwork to merit the certificate

He explained that SON Niger State Office II would continue to maintain effective quality management system in compliance with NIS ISO to enable customers have values for their money.

The Coordinator therefore advised the beneficiaries to continue to maintain standards as SON would continue on its inspection and surveillance of the companies.

All the CEOs of the seven companies who received the MANCAP Certificates commended SON for finding them worthy for the certification.

According to them, the MANCAP Certificates will further encourage them to produce quality products and services.
