Chelsea football club have announced its first summer signing ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The Blues officially announced the signing of French striker Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig on Tuesday, June 20 in a deal worth €60m.
Nkunku will sign a six-year deal with the London club which will see him remain at Stamford Bridge till 2029.
The 25-year-old expressed his excitement after completing his move to the Premier League side.
“I am incredibly happy — big effort was made to bring me to the club, I wanna show Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch,” Nkunku said as quoted by Transfer Market expert Fabrizio Romano.
Nkunku is seen as a solution to Chelsea's attacking problems ahead of next season.
He managed 23 goals and 9 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig last season.
