Suspected armed robbers have invaded the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) secretariat in Garki Area 11, near Nigeria Police force headquarters, and burgled two cars.

The yet to be arrested robbers vandalised the cars parked where select top management staff usually park their vehicles in front of a block that houses the minister of FCT’s office, Permanent Secretary and other top officials of the administration and took away the brain boxes with other parts.

With the security breach, there is intense fear in the secretariat as few weeks ago the unknown men operated unchallenged at the FCT Treasury department where they went away with a loptop including some items.

Workers in the secretariat, who don’t want their names mentioned, confirmed that one of the burgled vehicles, new white Hilux with registration number; FCTA – 06L -13CT, belong to the director administration and finance of FCT Education Secretariat.

They said : “The robbers broke the back door glass of the new Hilux car, which belong to the director administration and finance, and entered inside and open the driver’s door, and removed the brain box and other sensitive items from the vehicle. They did same to another Hilux park in the same area.

“The robbers had few weeks ago burgled the FCT Treasury department office and took away the laptop belonging to a senior staff. There was also an attempt to burgle my car about a week ago, most of us are afraid of the unabated robberies in the Secretariat” said some staff.

No explanation was rendered for the invasion and why it was not prevented by the ubiquitous contingent of security officers, especially those at the main entrance, close to the administrative block where the robbers invaded.

The director security department, FCT Administration, Adamu Gwary did not return a two day request seeking his response.

A spokesman for the FCT Police command, Josephine Adeh also failed to respond to several calls put to her cell phone as at the time of filling this report.
