Notable personalities, including Governor of Abia State, HE Alex Otti, his Enugu State counterpart, HE Peter Mbah, PDP Chieftain - Chief Christian Ubah and others have graced the burial ceremony of late Lady Comfort Umenyiora Adaugo who passed away at the age of 71.


She is the mother of PDP Zonal Women Leader SoutEast, Barr. Ifeyinwa Morah. 


Lady Comfort Umenyiora was laid to rest at her home state Umueri village, Ogbunike in Oyi local government area of Anambra State on October 26.


Her burial was preceded by a service of songs held in her honour on 24th Oct, 2023 @ Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, 11 Achi Street, Independence Layout, Enugu, Enugu State.

The priest who presided over her burial mass described the late Lady Comfort Umenyiora as a devout Christian who demonstrated commitment to the service of the Lord. 


According to him, her selflessness and ability to offer a shoulder of support in the affairs of the church and outside it was exemplary. 


Barr. Ifeyinwa Morah while eulogising her late mother applauded her meekness and selfless service in her community and the church. 


According to her, her late mother even while her energy waned was full of courage in service to God and humanity, praying God to grant her soul a peaceful rest. 

It was a carnival-like funeral ceremony as dance troupes entertained guests with their magical dance steps. Several Constituency Representatives were in Attendance. MHR Maureen Gwacham representing Oyi/Ayamelum, MHR Peter Aniekwe representing ANAMBRA East & West, MHA Ojicam representing Oyi LGA at the House of Assembly. 


Other notables at the burial ceremony include, Chief Christian Ubah, Sir Victor Ochei, Sir Michael Onuorah, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Chief Tony Okam, Chief Dan Ulasi, Chief Ifedi Ejim, Hon Ofor Chukwuegbo, Sir Kelvin the CEO Apams Ltd, Sir Obinna Ararume, Sir Iyke DikeeEjiii Eje Mba of EziÖwelle, Sir Val Ozigbo, Sir Ejikeme Ogazi Nnokwa among a host of several others.
