No fewer than 305 eminent Nigerians have been honoured at the just concluded induction and conferment of honorary Doctorate Degree award by the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), an event that took place in partnership with Prowess University, Delaware United States.
The 305 awardees comprise 40 honorary Doctorate Degrees, 20 distinguished fellows, 45 fellows, as well as 200 who were inducted into the categories of members and associates.
Speaking at the event, the President of CIISM and former Attorney-General of Delta State, Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor said this is the highest number of inductees in the recent history of the Institute.
According to him, all the awardees fulfilled the compulsory requirements for conferment of their various honour, assuring that CIISM is committed to upholding its standards.
The Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) formerly known as Institute of Information and Strategy Management (IISM) is a foremost educational institution and the largest professional body of information and strategic management in Africa.
Top among those conferred with the award include, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, former Governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, a former member of the Senate, Grace Folashade Bent among others.
Also speaking, the CIISM Director of membership and the secretary, Dr. Oyintoke Adelanke P urged Nigerians seeking to professinalise and develop their information and strategic management skills to see CIISM as their solution.
According to him, the institute offers an opportunity for professionalism and certification that is recognised within and outside Nigeria.
Some of the awardees who were full of excitement expressed gratitude to the institute for remaining at the forefront in professionalising information and strategic management skills which they said is strategic to the creation numerous employment opportunities in the country.
