The Delta State police command has detained and disarmed an inspector for firing a shot that hit a boy on his leg and abdomen at a checkpoint along the East-West road in Ughelli, Delta state today December 5.

An X user shared the sad story online alongside gory videos of the victim.

Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, expressed sadness over it and disclosed that the erring officer had been arrested.

In another update, Edafe shared a blurred photo of the arrested officer and said that the injured victim is currently being treated.
