In furtherance of his resolve to ensure that every child in Anambra State gets educated, the Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University, Burundi Sir Paul Chukwuma has endowed his Alma Mater, the Holy Ghost Juniorate, Ihiala with the sum of N100m to build modern classrooms for the students.
Sir Paul Chukwuma who is a member of the 1989 set of the seminary made this donation during the 70th Anniversary of the school and Inter House sports competition which was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the school facility in Ihiala. He urged the school to utilise the funds to build befitting classrooms embedded with various learning aids to prepare the students to compete in a rapidly changing technological world.
Recalling his time at the Seminary, Sir Paul Chukwuma stated that the institution played a significant part in his success story as the discipline and education he got from the school helped shape his worldview.
"The training and discipline I received here helped in my development. The seminary taught me how to dream. It taught me determination, focus and perseverance. Most importantly it taught me faith, to put my hope and trust in God. When I left the juniorate the lessons I learnt never left me, the compounded effect of all these lessons is who I am today " he stated.
He further urged the students to remain focused and inculcate the virtue of self-discipline and delayed gratification and to pray regularly, never losing faith in God.
Earlier, Sir Paul Chukwuma supported all past rectors of the school with the sum of one million naira each to appreciate them for helping to mould students who were morally and academically upright.
Recall that earlier in February, Paul Chukwuma paid the UTME fees of 500 candidates and in March proceeded to pay the SSCE fees of 1000 students. Being a lover of education, Paul Chukwuma has continued to support education across all educational strata in Anambra state and beyond.
