Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to the N10 million bail granted to him by the Federal High Court in Lagos on naira abuse allegations.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Cubana Chief Priest with three counts of spraying and tampering with naira notes during an event at Eko Hotels in Lagos.
When the matter was called, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the prosecution, while Mr Chikaosolu Ojukwu, a senior lawyer, announced the arrival of Cubana Chief Priest.
Ojukwu, then first informed the court of a preliminary objection, challenging the court’s jurisdiction as well as a bail application filed on behalf of his client.
He informed the court that the prosecution was not opposed to the same.
After the charge was read to Cubana Chief Priest, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In moving the bail application of the defendant, counsel urged the court to grant him bail on liberal terms.
He told the court that the defendant was admitted by the prosecution following his health condition, adding that due to his weight, the defendant suffers palpitation.
Consequently, Justice Kehinde Ogundare granted him a bail of N10 million.
Following his bail, the socialite took to his Instagram, to boast that he has money to resolve the issue. He also acknowledged his fans.
“Seeing All You Messages & Love I’m So Humbled. Now It’s Confirmed CP No Small. Money Na Water,” he wrote.
“Davido, I no go see u for 6 months ke never! Yomi Casual, thank God o.”
Idiris Okuneye, crossdresser known as Bobrisky, was handed a 6-month jail sentence after he was arraigned by the EFCC.
