The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has confirmed that several areas in Abuja are currently experiencing power outages.

The announcement was made on Tuesday via AEDC’s official X handle.

The affected areas include Wuse Zone 3, parts of Zone 2, Zone 5, and surrounding areas of the Federal Capital Territory. AEDC has attributed the power outage to a malfunctioning feeder supplying these regions.

In their statement, AEDC reassured residents that their technical team is working tirelessly to rectify the issue and restore power as soon as possible. However, they did not provide a specific timeline for when power supplies would be restored.

“This is to notify the locals in Wuse Zone 3, parts of Zone 2, Zone 5, and the surrounding areas that the present power outage is being caused by a malfunction on the feeder that supplies these areas. Our committed technical staff is working nonstop to promptly restore the supply. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as a result of inadequacies in power supply,” the statement read.
