Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly passed away.

According to a report by SaharaReporters, sources indicate that Ubah died in a London hotel after arriving in the United Kingdom two days ago.

This tragic news was confirmed in a group chat among senators, who have begun expressing their condolences.

Recently, Ubah’s campaign council made headlines by contributing N71 million to the APC in Anambra State, including N50 million from Ubah himself. This donation was intended to strengthen the party’s position in the region.

The Nnewi-born Ubah was first elected into the Senate in 2019 under the platform of Young Progressives Party.

He made a return to the red chamber in the 2023 general election under the same YPP  before dumping the party for APC.

Ubah, who is the owner of Capital Oil, and Chairman of Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), was also said to have shown interest in next year’s governorship election in Anambra state.
