A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a legal case brought against the #EndBadGovernance protesters, along with the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Chiefs of Army and Defence Staff.

The case, initiated by 17 individuals from various regions of the country, sought to halt the recent nationwide protests. However, the court struck out the suit due to a lack of diligent prosecution.

Justice Peter Lifu made the ruling on Thursday after both the 17 plaintiffs and the 26 defendants failed to appear in court, nor were they represented by any legal counsel.

Despite the matter being scheduled for a hearing, the judge expressed surprise at the absence of the plaintiffs and their legal representatives.

The plaintiffs had argued that the protests infringed on their fundamental rights, including freedom of movement, human dignity, property ownership, and their economic, social, and cultural development.

They had requested the court to order the DSS, IGP, military chiefs, and AGF to protect their rights by taking action against the protesters.
