Renowned Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori Smith, popularly known as TG Omori, has opened up about a personal health battle, revealing that his brother recently donated a kidney to save his life.

Omori made the revelation on Wednesday through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared the emotional details of the transplant, which took place on August 26, 2024.

In his post, he expressed deep gratitude to his brother, writing, “Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again. Keep my spirit alive. I don’t wanna die.”

He also shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed on his Instastories, giving fans a glimpse into the challenging journey he has been on.

However, just hours after his initial announcement, TG Omori provided a heartbreaking update: the kidney transplant had failed. He shared this devastating news on X, stating, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicholas Lagos. Pray for me.”

The news has sparked an outpouring of support from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers on social media, with many offering prayers and words of encouragement during this difficult time.

One user, @Officialsoliu, offered to undergo a match test, saying, “TG, reach if you need another one. I don’t mind being taken in for a match test, for free bro. Can’t afford to miss your visuals in the entertainment industry.”

Another user, @jb_cent, shared a heartfelt prayer: “O’ God, of our friend TG who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. No healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our good friend TG with your loving care, renew his strength, and heal what ails him in your loving name.”

TG Omori, who began his career at the age of 20 after graduating from PEFTI Film Institute, has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent music video directors. He has worked with top artists like Olamide, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. Despite his success, he has faced personal challenges, including battling depression for a year after failing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2012.

As TG Omori continues to fight for his health, his fans and the entertainment community are rallying around him, sending him strength and hope for a successful recovery.
