Plans are ongoing for the final burial of late Mr. Innocent Ogunedo Ngumah, father of renowned Imo-born philanthropist and the founder of Victor For Victory Foundation, Hon. Victor Ihochi Ngumah.
He passed away at the graceful age of 85, his son Martin Chiedozie Ngumah said in a burial poster.
He death comes virtually after seven months after his dear wife and mother of Hon. Victor, Eugenia Nwakaego Ngumah passed away at the age of 75 and was laid to rest at her country home Okwuoba Okpofe in Ezinihitte, Mbaise in Imo State on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Her husband who has just joined her has been described as God-fearing who also provided spiritual mentorship to many persons.
His burial according to the family will take place at his country home Okwuoba Okpofe in Ezinihitte, Mbaise in Imo State on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.
His body will at 10am on the said date depart Holy Rosary Mortuary, Ogbor Nguru for his residence. It will have a brief stop-over at Okwuaba village hall
A funeral mass will be held in his honour at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Okpofe Ezinihitte Mbaise after which he would be committed to the mother earth at his compound.
His son, Hon. Victor who had aspired for House of Representatives before is notable for his series philanthropic activities in Imo and beyond.
He has rolled out many life-touching campaigns, including free eye care services, educational scholarships and economic empowerments for members of the community and beyond.
The burial is expected to attract politically exposed persons, captains of industries, prominent Igbo sons and daughters from far and wide.
His father will be remembered for advocating peace and unity in the community as well as his committed service in God's vine yard.
