Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has proudly presented the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, produced at his new refinery.

The presentation took place on Tuesday during a broadcast from the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The refinery, which recently began a test run of its production capabilities, represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector.

During the broadcast, Dangote expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian people and the government of President Bola Tinubu for providing a conducive environment for the project’s growth, development, and eventual success.

“I would like to salute the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for giving us the platform for growth, development, and prosperity.

I also want to thank him personally for creating the idea of the Naira for crude. Doing that will give Naira stability,” Dangote stated.

He emphasized that the operation of the refinery will allow for accurate tracking of Nigeria’s true fuel consumption, as it will enable the monitoring of every truck and ship that is loaded with petrol.

Dangote also highlighted the broader impact of the refinery, noting that it is designed not only to meet the fuel demands of Nigeria but also to serve the entire sub-Saharan African region.

This development is expected to enhance energy security and stability across the continent, providing a reliable supply of petroleum products.

The successful test run and the presentation of the first petrol sample mark a significant achievement for the Dangote Refinery, which has been one of the most anticipated projects in Nigeria’s industrial landscape.
