Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has shared his disappointment following a recent encounter with Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, in Benin, Edo State.

In a viral video, Portable, known for his outspoken nature, lamented that despite meeting Obi, the former presidential candidate did not offer him any financial support.

The singer remarked that if it had been President Bola Tinubu, the outcome would have been different.

The video captured the moment the two exchanged pleasantries during their time in Benin. Portable, speaking in Yoruba, expressed his frustration after the brief interaction, saying, “Obi didn’t give us anything. If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something.”

Peter Obi was in Benin to campaign for Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata, while Portable was in town for a show.

The encounter between the two public figures has sparked reactions on social media, with fans debating Portable’s remarks.
