Top African leaders are set to be honoured at the upcoming Democracy Heroes Award Africa in recognition of their contributions towards the enrichment of democratic norms in the nigerian society and the African continent as a whole.
Leading in the list of those who are set to receive the prestigious award is the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai who defeated a former football star, George Weah in a keenly contested election and was inaugurated earlier in the year.
Nigerian leaders who have also made significant impact in entrenching good governance will be honoured.
They include, Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, his Niger counterpart, Mohammed Umar Bago and the Chief Executive Officer of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal.
Others include, Governors Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom state and Nasir Idris of Kebbi state as well as the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike.
The award also recognizes entrepreneurs, business and entertainers whose contributions have helped in entrenching stability through job creation, youth empowerment and poverty alleviation measures.

Project Director FDN, Olufunsho Ajagbonna aka Fajag in a chat with journalists in Abuja said like the previous editions of the award, those who emerged this year were chosen after a rigorous process, including popular choice in online voting.
Awardees will be officially conferred at a ceremony on 2nd October 2024, at Congress Hall Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
