One of the states located in the North-Central part of the country, Benue, has recorded 20 suspected cases of Mpox.

Benue State Epidemiologist, Dr. Msuega Asema, who disclosed this, said the suspected cases were reported from March 2024 to date.

He said, “Out of the four confirmed cases, three have been treated and discharged.” He added that the State has only one active case of Monkeypox.

He said, “The four confirmed cases are from Makurdi and Gwer West, while the suspected cases are from five local governments, including Ushongo, Katsina-Ala, Gboko, Makurdi, and Gwer West.
