Major stakeholders and cultural activist, Mr. Efe have urged Nigerians to devote more resources and time to the development of the country's cultural heritage and identity as a way of projecting our true image to the global community.
He also called for cultural exchange, and innovation as a way of connecting cultures to drive innovation, blend ideas from different cultural backgrounds to forster unity for the benefit of the entire society.
He made this call at a pre-carnival gala of Abuja iBelieve Carnival which had as the theme, "Be The Light: Connecting Cultures, Creating Tomorrow" at Musa Yardua centre recently.
The well attended cultural event which has traditional display and other entertainment had the presence of Nigerian Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade john, President of messengers of peace foundation, Dr. Suleiman Adejoh, veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Daniels, Directors from various ministries and a host of other distinguished Individuals.
The carnival is scheduled for November 7-11 at Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja.
While speaking at the event, he buttressed that there is need to inspire leadership and vision that will guide others towards positive change.
He further said "Nigeria has an ethnically diverse population consisting of over 250 ethnic groups, each with their own culture, language, and traditions. Celebrating this variety entails recognizing the contributions that each group makes to the country while also encouraging mutual respect and tolerance.
"Despite its diverse population, Nigeria has encountered difficulties in promoting unity. The theme emphasizes the necessity of working toward a united Nigeria, in which people from many ethnic groups may collaborate and achieve a common objective."
According to him, that investing in youth and future generations will shape tomorrow's leaders, innovators, and change-makers, noting that the carnival's initiatives focused on skill acquisition, education, and entrepreneurship.
"Lighting up the future requires action, empowering people to take steps toward positive transformation in their communities, from supporting youth empowerment to fostering creativity in business and the arts" she said.
He added, "Cultural initiatives like this carnival creates a ripple effect, connecting local communities to global movements for cultural preservation, economic growth, and social change".
According to the organisers, the carnival promises to be an extraordinary celebration, showcasing Nigeria's arts, fashion, and diverse traditions.
It will focus on cultural preservation, sustainable development, and economic empowerment.
With over 10 distinct activities planned across the five days, the carnival is expected to bring together international and local participants to celebrate the essence of Nigeria's heritage.
The organizers invite more partners, supporters, and cultural enthusiasts to join in making the Abuja iBelieve Carnival a resounding success.
"Together, we can continue to “Be the Light" and create a brighter future for all through culture, innovation, and collaboration."
