In a troubling development, suspected sea pirates have abducted 10 individuals traveling on the Bonny-Port Harcourt waterway in Rivers State.

The incident took place on Monday morning as the victims were en route from Bonny Island to Port Harcourt.

According to reports, the armed assailants intercepted the boat and forcibly took the passengers hostage, raising significant concerns about the safety of travelers along this critical waterway.

Israel Waribo Pepple, the District Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Rivers State District, confirmed the abduction, underscoring the growing threat posed by sea pirates in the area.
