In a significant victory against armed banditry, troops under Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully taken down four infamous bandit leaders in Zamfara State.
The criminals, identified as Ibrahim Nagure, Lawali Dodo, Kadiri, and Jambaleri, were neutralized in an operation that followed the recent elimination of Halilu Sububu, a major orchestrator of terrorist activities in the North West.
In a related development, military forces captured a wanted terrorist leader, Hosseini Osman, in Ganawuri village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. Osman confessed to orchestrating numerous deadly attacks, including a recent assault in Ganawuri village, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives. He also admitted to involvement in a kidnapping network linked to several abductions in the area.
Using intelligence gathered from Osman’s confession, troops quickly mobilized to Kyaram village in Kanam Local Government Area, successfully rescuing several kidnapped victims.
Meanwhile, sources in the Defence Intelligence reported that troops executed a strategic ambush against terrorists fleeing from the Sambisa Forest towards the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area. This action led to heavy casualties among Boko Haram fighters and the confiscation of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.
In Kaduna State, troops raided a suspected terrorist hideout in the Gobarawa Forest, Birnin Gwari. The criminals scattered, leaving behind five AK-47 rifles, 16 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and five motorcycles, as confirmed by a military defense source.
Earlier intelligence reports revealed that Sububu played a key role in inciting violence in Zamfara until his elimination. A reliable source confirmed that the military’s intensive clearance operation resulted in the removal of Sububu and other bandits. Troops also seized various firearms, ammunition, and motorcycles used by the criminals.
Investigation indicated that Sububu was responsible for the death of a drone pilot and an operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) around two months ago, along with several abductions and killings in Zamfara.
