Six members of a same family have lost their lives following a fatal accident in Gusau, Zamfara State’s capital.
The crash involved a truck and a motorcycle has left the community reeling in grief.
Eyewitness accounts state that both the truck and the motorcycle were speeding along a road under construction near the Water Board office.
“The man riding the motorcycle, along with his entire family, attempted to overtake the trailer. Unfortunately, he lost control and collided with the trailer, which crushed them all,” the eyewitness said.
The victims, including the father, mother, an infant, and two other children, were rushed to the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, where they were all declared dead upon arrival.
Also corroborating the report in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, security analyst and counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, said the accident happened near Gusau hotel.
“A truck driver ran over a man riding a motorcycle with his family, resulting in the tragic death of six people, including the man, his wife, their children, and an infant who was being carried.
” The incident happened near Gusau Hotel in Gusau, in Zamfara. 29/9/2024,” Makama said.
