Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced a new minimum wage of N75,000 for civil servants, effective Monday.
This decision, detailed in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Monday Uzor, reflects a commitment to improving worker welfare amid Nigeria’s economic challenges.
Under the new wage structure, civil servants on grade level 2 will receive the full minimum wage of N75,000, while employees from grade level 3 and above will see a pay increase of N40,000 across the board.
Additionally, Governor Nwifuru has appointed Obinna Ezenkwa and Uchenna Otuh as general managers for the Umuoghara Pulverization Plant and Ezzamgbo Pipe Production Factory, respectively.
The appointments aim to strengthen Ebonyi’s industrial sector by bringing in skilled leadership.
