Richard Tallen, the only son of Pauline Tallen, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has died.

In a statement released by the family on Sunday, it was confirmed that Richard died earlier that morning at Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja, where he had been receiving treatment.

He had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Friday night and was placed on oxygen support, although the exact cause of death has yet to be disclosed.

His former school, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA), also confirmed the news, sharing a tribute on their social media platform.

“On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr. Richard Adamu Tallen.

Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him.

May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members rest in peace. Amen,” the association wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon.

Richard, 42, held a degree in Computer Science from a university in the United States. He is survived by his wife and three children. The family will announce funeral arrangements in due course.
