Three kidnapped victims —a woman, her daughter, and another resident—have been successfully rescued following a heavy shooting between their abductors and a joint security team at Gudunkarya forest, located along the border between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa State.
According to reports, armed men stormed Alhaji Gwandara settlement in Dafara, Kuje Area Council, in the early hours of Wednesday, abducting the victims at gunpoint.

Modu Alkali, a relative of the victims, confirmed the rescue during a telephone conversation on Thursday.

He explained that a combined security force comprising soldiers, a police anti-kidnapping unit, hunters, and vigilantes launched an operation at the kidnappers’ hideout, resulting in a shootout.

He said, “After a heavy shootout with a joint security team, the kidnappers fled and abandoned the victims.”

The Chairman of the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the FCT, Ibrahim Ardo, also confirmed the successful rescue. He commended the security operatives for their swift intervention, ensuring the victims were safely recovered.

Meanwhile, Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, stated that she would verify the situation and provide further details.
