Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu, has expressed confidence in the country’s economic prospects, predicting notable advancements within the next two years under her husband’s leadership.

During her visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and other traditional rulers on Thursday in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Oluremi assured that President Tinubu is dedicated to steering Nigeria towards greatness.

She highlighted that the government’s economic strategies aim to elevate the nation’s economy to a $1 trillion mark over the next eight years.

The administration is focused on several key reforms, including declaring a state of emergency on revenue generation and national security, restructuring the central bank, and unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s solid minerals sector, she explained.

“We are aware that the subsidy has been removed, but with God’s help, in the next two years, Nigeria will be greater than it is today. With your prayers and support, we will build a nation ready for the future,” she said.

She continued, “We give glory to God for our position. My husband and I are not greedy; we thank God for what He has done for us. We cannot disappoint Nigeria, and with God’s help, we will reach the promised land in no distant time.”

Senator Tinubu further stressed the administration’s focus on education and youth empowerment, ensuring that all young Nigerians have access to education regardless of their financial circumstances. She encouraged youths to take full advantage of the recently introduced National Students Loan Scheme, designed to make education more accessible.

She also discussed her initiative, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which is providing scholarships and laptops to 47 indigent students across the country through the National Scholarship Program (NASP). Each student, she noted, receives N1 million annually throughout their studies.

“As part of the #WeAreEqual Campaign under the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), I have reintroduced the Alternative High School for Girls, offering young women who left school due to early marriage, teenage pregnancy, or other challenges, a second chance to complete their education and acquire essential life skills,” she added.
