Plans are ongoing for the public presentation of a book titled "Recycling in Nigeria," a research work that seeks to improve human health and quality of life through effective waste management and environmental protection.

Written by the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, Hon. Terseer Ugbor, the 171-page book also provides insight into the concept of recycling, educating readers on the processes, procedures, policies, and regulations that guide recycling activities in Nigeria and around the world.

"'Recycling in Nigeria' is drawn from the knowledge acquired over the last 17 years of working and consulting in the environmental space as a waste recycling consultant for governments, businesses, and industries in Nigeria and beyond," the author noted.
He said the book is also a step towards the actualization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 and 11, which focus on promoting access to clean drinking water and sanitation and making human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, respectively.

A former Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, in the book’s foreword, described it as a crucial tool for anyone desiring to make a significant impact in the recycling industry, as it offers valuable insights and actionable steps to drive successful recycling projects.

The official presentation of the book to the public will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
