The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of a police officer, Ibrahim Maizabuwa.

The suspects, identified as 67-year-old Ezekiel Kefas and 44-year-old Stephen Zabadi, are residents of Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspects were apprehended on November 19, 2024, following a report filed by the officer’s son, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the late officer had visited his friend, Ezekiel Kefas, prior to his death.

During interrogation, Kefas claimed that the officer was attacked and killed by a group of thugs after allegedly damaging property and assaulting people in his house. The deceased was reportedly buried in the community following the incident.

The police have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway to uncover the full details of the crime and bring all those involved to justice.

“My friend came and started destroying property including a pot of soup and water in my house and assaulting people as a result of which women and children raised alarm which attracted thugs who beat him up to death.

“Those who killed him include Yakubu, Suleiman and Kilyobas. They beat him up with sticks to death. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who killed, but we didn’t meet anyone of them,” Ezekiel was quoted as saying.

The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident and prosecution of the suspects.
