Bishop Ugokwe ugochukwu prince National President of the National CNG Promoters Ambassadors Network (NCPAN), emphasized the imperative of Nigeria's transition to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) products. Addressing Abuja residents on Saturday, Bishop Ugokwe described the shift as a "no-brainer," citing its potential to mitigate the country's energy challenges.
"Nigeria's transition to CNG products is a no-brainer," Bishop Ugokwe stated. "With current happenings, we need to shift to CNG. CNG products will provide a cleaner-burning fuel, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution."
Bishop Ugokwe highlighted the benefits of transitioning to CNG products "CNG is generally cheaper than other fuels, which could help reduce energy costs for Nigerian consumers and businesses, and it is imperative that Nigeria industries should shift to CNG products for cost-effective, so that Nigerians will get a better and cheaper services. Coming to energy security and economic benefits, transition to CNG Nigeria will reduce its dependence on imported fuels and enhance its energy security, this wil creat new economic opportunities and jobs in the energy sector."
Bishop Ugokwe ugochukwu who is also the presiding bishop of YOKE BREAKERS PROPHETIC MINISTRY ABUJA..commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and Engr Michael oluwagbemi Programme Director /Chief Executive Pi CNG,for launching the Pi-CNG initiative, aimed at transforming Nigeria's transportation sector. The initiative provides a sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative.
This government has taken significant steps to support the transition by removing 100% VAT from the CNG value chain Providing incentives for vehicle conversion and regulatory framework support, and we must utilise this opportunity now.
Bishop Ugokwe emphasized the need for community engagement and education. The NCPAN has initiated a community engagement orientation program to educate the masses on the importance of switching to CNG products.
Nigeria's transition to CNG products is a significant step towards a more sustainable transportation sector. With government support and investment, the Pi-CNG initiative has the potential to transform the country's landscape. "It's a no-brainer for us," Bishop Ugokwe concluded.
