Chief Mrs. Afolashade Mujidat Tinubu, daughter President Bola Tinubu will grace the annual Igbo Cultural Fiesta/New Yam Festival and public service award of Igbo community in Karu, Abuja as Special Guest of Honour, an event that will also feature empowerment of widows.
An invitation letter obtained by ABUJAPRESS reveals that the Traditional Ruler of Igbo community in Karu, Eze Prof. Igwe Ochendo A.O Chukwudi, his cabinet and Ohanaeze Ndigbo said the event will take place under the chairmanship of Dr. Uche Nwosu the Chairman of Gudu market.
The event seeks to portray the rich cultural heritage of Ndigbo, which new yam festival is one of them, a moment to be thankful to God for the success of the farming and harvest season and yam is seen as king of crops in Igbo land.
The event will hold on Sunday, Nov 24, 2024 at Igwe Ochendo Ogidi Igbo's palace by Capital Gateway hotel, Ado-Karu Abuja.
Other prominent personalities, including Ebubedike 1 of Igbo land, High Chief Amb. Arthur Obiora, the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Malakalagu and the DG National Council for Arts and Culture and others will be in attendance.
Igbo sons and daughters are urged to come in their large numbers to celebrate their cultural heritage in a grand style.
