President Bola Tinubu is set to host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a State Visit.

This was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The visit marks the first time an Indian prime minister has visited Nigeria since Dr. Manmohan Singh’s 2007 visit, during which both nations forged a strategic partnership.

According to Onanuga, the two leaders are expected to hold discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and India.

“Both leaders will exchange signed Memoranda of Understanding to enhance collaboration in critical sectors,” Onanuga said.

The statement further highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s arrival is slated for Saturday ahead of the State Visit.

It emphasized the significance of the meeting as an opportunity to bolster ties between the two countries.
