A tragic accident over the weekend along the Lambata-Suleja road has resulted in the loss of six lives.
The incident involved a DAF truck and a Peugeot 406 car and took place in Gwachipe village, approximately three kilometers from Lambata.
According to eyewitnesses, 11 individuals were involved in the accident, all of whom were male.
Three victims died at the scene, while the remaining three succumbed to their injuries en route to the General Hospital in Suleja.
The bodies of the deceased have been evacuated and deposited at the hospital, awaiting collection by their families.
Among the victims was a lecturer from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, further deepening the tragedy of the incident.
Mr. Kumar Tsukwam, the Sector Commander of the Niger State Command, confirmed the accident and attributed the cause to overspeeding.
He reported that the accident occurred within a span of just seven minutes, and his team promptly responded to the scene to conduct rescue operations. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, six lives were lost in this heartbreaking event.
