A sudden fire outbreak engulfed the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, near Cappa Bus Stop, causing extensive property damage worth millions of naira.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire began around midnight on Christmas Day and continued to rage into the early hours of Boxing Day, with rescue efforts still underway as of 4 a.m.
Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), are working tirelessly to bring the blaze under control.
While no casualties have been reported, the fire has left a trail of destruction, raising concerns about the cause of the incident and its impact on the institution’s operations.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the fire.
