Rafat Salami, a distinguished journalist with Voice of Nigeria (VON) and former Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council, has passed away.

The Kogi State-born journalist, known for her active role in union affairs and her advocacy against the stigmatization of children with special needs, reportedly died in Abuja on Friday morning.

Salami had been ill for several weeks and was receiving treatment at a hospital in Abuja before her death, sources revealed to PlatinumPost.

Her passing has left the journalism community in shock, with heartfelt tributes pouring in from colleagues and friends, all expressing their grief and honouring her impactful life.
