The President-elect of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja on Monday, December 16.
Mahama met with President Tinubu at his residence in the Presidential Villa, underscoring the cordial relationship between both leaders and their respective nations.
The visit was disclosed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Olusegun Dada, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.
Dada said, “President-Elect of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at his residence, Presidential Villa, State House Yesterday.”
The post was made alongside photographs of President Tinubu meeting the Ghana’s president-elect during their meeting.
In the post, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu was also captured welcoming Mahama to the Presidential Villa alongside her husband.
Mahama, 66, won the 2024 general election in Ghana and will be inaugurated on January 7, 2025. He previously served as the vice president of Ghana between January 2009 and July 2012.
On July 24, 2012, Mahama assumed office as the president of Ghana following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills. He served as Ghana’s president between July 24, 2012 and January 7, 2017.
