The Ayudantes Empowerment Initiative (AEI), a non-governmental organization, on Wednesday staged a rally at the Dei-Dei and Zuba motor parks in Abuja to promote peace, unity, and national development.

The event was aimed at sensitizing Nigerians to the recent successes of the Nigerian Armed Forces in their operations across the country and advocating for increased public support for the military.

Speaking at the rally, AEI Executive Director, Amechi Chuks Oyema, expressed the group’s excitement over the military’s recent achievements and urged Nigerians to support the armed forces to sustain the momentum.

“One particular aspect that concerns us is ongoing military operations across the country. Our able troops are working sacrificially on all fronts to make us sleep well,” Oyema said.

He commended the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa, for facilitating journalists’ recent visits to military operation areas across the country, describing the tours as insightful.

“Just recently, journalists went to the North East, North West, South South, and South East. Reports from the visits show we are winning the war,” he said. “In the South South, oil thieves are being dealt with. In the South East, our troops are having victory over IPOB and criminal tendencies that make that zone dreadful. In the North East and West, it is cheering news.”

The AEI director stressed the importance of peace for economic stability and business growth, urging Nigerians to reject actions that could destabilize the country.

“You cannot be doing your businesses if we allow evil people to overrun our country,” he said. “If the country is in disarray, it will affect every one of us. The plan of the evil people is to make us destabilized. Of course, we know they are being sponsored by some people who don’t wish us well. But by God’s grace, we will conquer them all.”

Oyema also appealed to those perpetrating acts of violence to repent, warning that the military would not relent in rooting out individuals threatening the nation’s peace.

“For all those who don’t want us to have peace, our troops will sniff you out of your hiding place, no matter how long it takes,” he said. “We will only have a peaceful country when we work with the Armed Forces of Nigeria to ensure peace.”

The rally concluded with Oyema commending the armed forces for their sacrifices, pledging AEI’s continued support and prayers for their success.
