The returning graduates, who were received at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport by Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam, commissioners, and other senior officials, include 150 individuals from Sharda University in India.
According to Dawakin-Tofa, the graduates are among 420 first-class degree holders supported by the Kano State Government under the 1,000 Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.
“Apart from the 150 graduates from Sharda University, there were 98 from Mewar University, 58 from Symbiosis University, and 30 from Kalinga University. Additionally, there were 29 graduates from SR University, 23 from Swarnim University, and 33 from the Islamic University in Uganda, among others,” the statement read.
During a reception for the returning scholars, Governor Yusuf praised their commitment and exceptional performance. He highlighted the foreign scholarship program as a key pillar of his administration’s strategy to enhance human capital development.
“This initiative equips our youth with advanced skills to drive progress across crucial sectors in Kano State and beyond,” the governor stated.
Yusuf emphasized the administration’s efforts to address the shortage of skilled healthcare professionals and improve the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
“This initiative reflects our mission to empower the youth and create a prosperous future for Kano State. We are proud of your achievements and confident in your contributions to our development goals,” he added.
The scholarship recipients are expected to play a significant role in advancing Kano State’s infrastructure, healthcare, and other critical sectors.
