On Tuesday, November 17, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce intensified its efforts to rid the metropolis of public nuisance by raiding various locations known for illegal activities.

The operation, led by the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, targeted key areas such as Awolowo Way, Falomo Roundabout, Ikoyi, Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, and along Lekki Road.

The goal of the raid was to eliminate destitute individuals and miscreants engaging in public nuisance, particularly street begging amid heavy traffic congestion. During the operation, 27 people, including 15 minors, were apprehended for unlawfully begging on the streets.

Wahab assured that all suspects would be transferred to appropriate government facilities for further action, in accordance with relevant laws.
