The Minister of State, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, has expressed delight over the presence of President Bola Tinubu at the wedding ceremony of the children of the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau on Friday.
The minister, who extended his heartfelt gratitude to Tinubu his unparalleled show of love and support at the wedding which took place at the National Mosque, Abuja, said the President’s personal attendance at the joyous occasion, alongside members of his family, exemplified his commitment to fostering unity and camaraderie among Nigerians, especially within the leadership ranks.
” This act of fatherly love further cements the President’s unwavering support for the Deputy Senate President and the people of Kano, showcasing his dedication to celebrating their milestones and achievements,” a statement by the minister’s aide, Seyi Olorunsola, said on Saturday.
” The wedding fatiha, which followed the Jumu’ah prayers, was a momentous occasion that brought together dignitaries from across Nigeria’s political, traditional, and corporate spheres. Prominent figures included the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, and key Governors, Senators, and political associates.
“The solemnity of the religious ceremony was complemented by the cultural richness of the event, symbolizing unity and the shared values of family, tradition, and progress.
President Tinubu’s presence as Wakil and Waliy during the ceremony was a profound gesture of solidarity and respect for the families involved, underscoring the interconnectedness of political and traditional leadership in fostering national development,” it added.
According to the statement, the Deputy Senate President’s pivotal role in the 10th Senate and his collaboration with leaders such as the Emir of Bichi, His Highness Nasiru Ado Bayero, highlight the synergies between modern governance and traditional authority in building a harmonious Nigeria.
In his remarks at the event, the Minister reaffirmed his commitment, alongside the Deputy Senate President, to advancing the growth and repositioning of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano and beyond.
