Afrobeat star and Africa’s second-most awarded female artist, Tiwa Savage, recently discussed her views on relationships, personal boundaries, and deal breakers in a candid conversation on “The Receipts” podcast.
During the episode, the 44-year-old music icon revealed a personal admission, sharing that she has never experienced the intense sexual satisfaction that many women refer to as an orgasm. “I don’t think I’ve ever had an orgasm, and I don’t even have sex toys,” she explained.
Savage also expressed a new understanding of the role sex toys can play, highlighting their power in helping women embrace their sexual autonomy and explore their desires freely.
When discussing her relationship deal breakers, the singer made it clear that infidelity has never been a reason for her to end a relationship. “I have never left a man because he cheated on me,” she stated. Instead, she pointed to other, more serious issues that would prompt her to leave a partner, describing them as “deeper things.”
Reflecting on her experiences, she shared, “I have been cheated on before. I found out and forgave every time. Every man I have ever been with has cheated, and I’ve never left them because of it. I’ve left for other reasons, but not because they cheated. Cheating is not my hill.”
She added that factors such as drug abuse, emotional abuse, and being ghosted were more likely to lead her to walk away from a relationship. What truly hurts, she said, is the dishonesty surrounding these issues. “What hurts is the lies about it, though. Maybe other people knew, and then I felt stupid about it, or they’ve known about it for a long time or if it’s close to home. The disrespect of it is why I could leave, but what is its actual act? I’ve never left a man cause of it,” she explained.
Tiwa was previously married to Tunji Balogun, also known as Tee Billz, from November 2013 until their separation in April 2016. During their marriage, Tee Billz accused her of infidelity, which Tiwa denied, instead accusing him of drug abuse, financial mismanagement, and abandonment.
After their divorce, rumours spread that Tiwa and fellow artist Wizkid were romantically involved, with the two sharing several pictures and videos together, fueling speculation about their relationship.
