Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has given reason for his refusal to attend this year’s Shiloh of the Living Faith Church, better known as Winners Chapel.

In a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, Melaye hinged his absence at the annual convocation of the Winners family worldwide on the manner Bishop David Abioye was retired from the church.

“I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow. I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch., ” he said.

PlatinumPost reports that Abioye alongside another senior Bishop of the church, Thomas Aremu, retired from the Living Faith Church in October 2024 when they turned 63 and 67 respectively.

The retirements follow a review of the church’s administrative policy, called The Mandate.

Retirement age for leaders at the church has been pegged at 55.

Only David Oyedepo, founder of the church, aged 70, can now serve for life, according to the new policy.
