Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.

During a food outreach event organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) at the New Festival Hall in Benin City, Okpebholo assured that the people of Edo State would deliver “more than 100% votes” for the President.

The RHI, led by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, seeks to provide relief to vulnerable households across the country.

“We are assuring you, Mr. President, of our 100% votes in the State come 2027 presidential election, and if possible, we will give you more than 100%,” the governor said.

Okpebholo commended President Tinubu and the First Lady for their efforts to reach vulnerable Nigerians through the RHI, noting that Edo citizens are already enjoying the dividends of democracy under their leadership.

“We are happy in Edo State, and the people are beginning to see and enjoy a new dawn. Look at food items all over the place in this hall, all thanks to the President and his wife for this great initiative that Edo people are benefiting from today,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, said the initiative which began in March 2024 has reached seven states, including Edo. She urged beneficiaries to use the food items wisely for their families’ benefit.

The Coordinator of the First Lady’s office in Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani Okpebholo, thanked Senator Tinubu for her impactful programs, which have reached millions of Nigerians.

She also commended Governor Okpebholo for his developmental strides and support for the RHI programs in Edo State.

Distributed items at the event included noodles, semovita, pasta, and other food essentials.
