International election observer and the National Coordinator of Nouvelle Perspective, Amb. Dr. Jim Okolo Chimezie has held strategic meetings with foreign election observations mission counterparts in the United States.
Amb. Dr. Chimezie, who is also the MD/CEO Jimez Petroleum Resources Limited had traveled to the US to participate in the official inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President Of US.
He has also been engaging in a number of activities with other election observers from other parts of the world to broker a closer working relationship with Nigeria and Africa, to strengthen democratic principles.
He has also been visiting some key international institutions in Washington DC, attempting to foster a closer working relationship.
He has held very strategic meetings with a team comprising a representative of Whitehouse, Dr Emmanuel Irono, Executive Director of TIS International Foundation, Mrs Mosley as well as a delegate from New York, Mr Brown and an EU representative, Mr Asani Musa.
They have visited Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Columbia District University and the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC among other institutions.
Amb. Dr. Okolo has consistently been an advocate of close diplomatic ties between both countries to enable Nigeria tap from the huge potentials of the US especially in the area of energy, technology transfer, industrialization and security.
He had also taken part in observing the November election in which Trump won then Vice-President Kamala Harris who was the candidate of the Democrat.
Before his departure from Abuja to Washington, Amb. Dr. Okolo had been decorated by Trump Train Africa, a youth initiative as its Global Grand Ambassador.
Speaking after his inauguration, he said credible election has a synergy with good governance, justice and peace.
He expressed hope that with a shared vision of pragmatic approach to good governance between Nigeria and Trump, Nigeria and indeed Africa will benefit a lot from the second term of Trump.
