The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has expressed deep sadness over the passing the passing of one of its young officers, Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCII) Bolaji Rasaq.
In an official statement issued by the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) Herbert Dzungwenen, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Morenikeji Bewaji, it was revealed that ASCII Bolaji Rasaq passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at a specialist hospital in Lagos.
The statement paid tribute to the late officer, describing her as a dedicated and hardworking individual who served as the secretary to the Customs Area Controller of the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command. Her commitment and contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service were highly regarded by her colleagues.
Comptroller Bewaji expressed deep sorrow over the loss, acknowledging the profound grief felt by the Command and those close to her.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, praying for divine comfort during this difficult time. May Almighty Allah grant her Aljanat Firdaus and give her family the strength to bear this immeasurable loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” she stated.
The statement further noted that the passing of ASCII Bolaji Rasaq is a significant loss to both the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command and the Nigeria Customs Service as a whole. The late officer was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
