Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, paid a visit to the Kaduna State Correctional Service facility on Thursday to see his former Chief of Staff, Bashir Saidu, who is being held in custody.

Saidu was arrested on Monday and arraigned at a magistrates’ court in Rigasa.

The court ordered his remand at the correctional center over allegations of money laundering and other related charges.

According to a report by Daily Trust, El-Rufai, who was accompanied by three former commissioners, arrived at the facility at approximately 10:19 a.m. and left shortly after, around 10:47 a.m.

The commissioners who joined the visit included Jafaru Sani, former Commissioner of Education; Hafsat Baba, former Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development; and Ibrahim Hussaini, former Commissioner for Environment.

Efforts to get comments from El-Rufai were unsuccessful as he declined to speak to the press.

Dressed in a green cap and light green agbada, the former governor entered one of the Prado vehicles in his convoy and departed the scene.
