Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has dismissed rumors suggesting he plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor categorically denied the claims, describing them as baseless and a distraction.
Oborevwori reiterated his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his dedication to delivering on his campaign promises under the party’s platform.
He urged the public to disregard the rumors and focus on the development initiatives underway in the state.
Ahon described the rumours as “unfounded and fabricated” by opposition elements in the state. According to Ahon, certain factions within the opposition are feeling threatened by Governor Oborevwori’s growing popularity and his efforts to foster connections across political lines.
The Governor’s spokesperson emphasized that Oborevwori has no intention of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing his wide acceptance within the party and his followership among well-meaning Deltans and residents.
Ahon noted that Governor Oborevwori remains focused on delivering the MORE Agenda to all Deltans, as promised during his electioneering campaigns. He urged Deltans to ignore the rumours, describing them as the handiwork of mischief makers and fifth columnists.
